“STATE HOLIDAY”

Texas Death Row

March 4th, 2010  4:00am

Welcome to my nightmare, tales from a dead man!

The day is fresh, the morning crisp and I just had two smiley faced guards deliver the morning meal and I was somewhat confused at first, like I had a moment of “Déjà Vu” because last night these same two guards fed the evening meal, which is exactly the same thing they just gave me again. Pancakes and grits last night and pancakes and grits now. But they say they’re freshly made. All 3 pancakes are stuck together and the grits can be picked up like a bar of soap. Good morning Death Row! What a great day to be alive.

Anyone want some grits?

Now as y’all know Texas executed a condemned soul on March 2nd, 2010 and even though the actual day was a “State Holiday” and all State offices were to be closed in observance of Texas Independence Day the Execution Chamber in Huntsville was open for business and just as hungry as ever. How crazy is that!
